Beyonce and her marketing team are absolute genius. They utilized the concert attendees as a direct focus group to sample the scent at the Renaissance Tour US venues. There was no need to hire a PR team to rally pre-selected participants to test the differing scents. The fans and attendees were the perfect pool of participants to conduct market research for product development.
This approach was smart because the concertgoers were engaged while waiting in lines to enter the venue and while being ushered to their seats.
