Summer is over. Don't be SAD!
According to studies, only 5% of Americans suffer from seasonal affective disorder, a disorder that "is a type of depression that occurs during certain seasons, usually fall and winter." This is where the term “winter blues” comes from. Studies show that, in some cases, these mood changes are more serious and can affect how a person feels, thinks, and handles daily activities.
In this state, a person's productivity, creativity, and daily routine can become disrupted as a result. Tools such as good nutrition can help with this. For example, eating mandarin oranges has both physical and spiritual health benefits.
Why the Mandarin?
Aside from the fact that I absolutely love mandarin oranges, they are so sweet, tiny, cute, and easy to peel. The Mandarin orange has wonderful benefits that add to your life, such as the fact that it contains Vitamins A, and B, and a high level of Vitamin C which is great for preventing infections, removing free radicals, and supporting skin health. In Chinese culture, mandarin oranges are a symbol of wealth. The act of sharing and partaking of mandarin oranges is an act of gifting wealth and spiritual exchange of happiness and joy.
